HOOK AND PIN VERSUS FIXED CASSETTE SYSTEM

ACP installation for building envelopeshas evolved over the years with the introduction of some advanced methods like the Hook & Pin system. The proliferation of tall and complex buildings has necessitated the birth of more technically sound methods which minimize the chances of error. The following gives a comparison between the wet sealant joint method and hook and pin:

External wall cladding with Wet Sealant joint

This is one of the most common installation systems of ACP in Building Envelope application. It is done with tray type (rout and return) panels where the joints are filled by wet sealant. After fixingACP (NON FR and FR) on the sub structure, we apply a suitable sealing material to the joints in order to ensure water-tightness.

External wall cladding with Hook & Pin (Hanging method)

The hanging system is very popular and is employed for most of the iconic buildings built across the globe.Cutting-edge factories capable of producing well engineered products play a crucial role in this system. The installation work at the construction site becomes much simpler and faster. Owing to the fact that the panels are not tightly fastened to the sub-frame but are simply suspended, they easily adjust themselves to thermal expansion and contraction. The Hook & Pin system also releases the biaxial stress under wind load and performs better during sudden change in wind load compared to the fixed cassette system.

Assembly Technical using Cassette System

ACP is shaped as cassettes in this system and is then assembled as in the figure below. The profile of cassette system must be made of aluminum or steel material.
