The company was founded in 1945 by Mr. Ernst Pennekamp, an experienced glass engineer in the field of melting and relaxation technology. The young, ambitious company quickly made a name for itself in the field of furnace construction through the development of “all-metal” stoves for the relaxation of glass. The quality, longevity and innovation of these ovens set standards.
In 1977, Mr. Pennekamp handed over the management of the company to Mr. HJ Seidel, the former head of the flat glass division of Pennekamp. Since 2003, the well-being of the family business has been in the hands of the next generation. With the new construction of the complete plant in the city of Ennepetal, there was also a corresponding focus on the changing needs of the glass industry as well as a cost-optimized production in the location “Germany”.
The management of Pennekamp recognized the challenge and the resulting challenge to develop absolutely reliable machines for the automated manufacturing process within the growing glass industry.
The company is today the most important manufacturer of ovens and automatic heat transfer systems for use in a wide variety of glass industries.
